Alex Moor
Hi all, I’m Alex (she/her), a PDRA at the University of Sheffield, UK, where I work on the DUNE and SBND experiments (and am also former MicroBooNE from my PhD days!). I am in the first year of my postdoc, currently working in the Calibration group for DUNE. I have previously held this same post for Young DUNE for a year during my PhD, as well as acting as both President and Captain for multiple years on my University sports teams, providing me with ample experience representing and organising large groups of people.
One of the things I am very serious about is making sure everyone feels included and part of the team, something I would find a priority to communicate to the spokespeople. I would like to make sure Young DUNE is a place where collaborators with less power can talk about what’s worrying them, and hopefully work together to develop a solution. New collaborators in particular need to have clear directions to get themselves set up in DUNE, and (if eligible) to join Young DUNE at the first opportunity!
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch over Slack, or email me at a.f.moor@sheffield.ac.uk with any questions!

Callum Cox
Hello DUNE Young!
I’m Callum (he/him), a PhD student between Rutherford Appleton Laboratories and Royal Holloway (University of London), where I joined DUNE in 2021 where I commenced work on the ND DAQ before moving onto the ND Gar and Neutrino Interaction Uncertainty Working Groups. Right now, investigating physics effects within the shallow inelastic region while improving the simulative reconstruction of neutrino energy.
Outwith DUNE, I have been both appointed and elected to voluntary communication roles within education organisations, editorial boards and social campaigns in the past. I have extensive experience in working as the liaison between respective civil stakeholders and the third sector – as well as between regular organisational members and management - ensuring key information is made available transparently, whilst ensuring everyone’s voice isn’t just heard but amplified. I believe these years of experience, garnered skills and amassed competences makes me best placed to deliver in this role.
Thank you for considering my candidacy with this opportunity, and if you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out via Slack or email (callum.cox@stfc.ac.uk)!
