• For your area of application, what capabilities would you want in a digital twin?
• What benefit would this bring to your work, and to the lab delivering on its mission?
• Is there a case that the benefit outweighs the remaining effort?

5 Requirements Collection and Drafting Strategic Plan

(add any further use cases as they occur in conversation)

What resources are already in place, and which ones would still be needed? For example:
- Is there already a system collecting operations data?
- Is there a repository where data are kept? How robust is access for retrieval?
- Does a simulation already exist, as in Ansys or XSuite, etc, or are there at least engineering documents to start from?
- Are there personnel needed to put together needed digital engineering or to develop machine learning algorithms?
- Are there already identified computing resources to support the live processes within the digital twin?

Finally, what avenues can be explored to find the remaining resources within the lab, or from outside?
