Bi-weekly Campus Grids and User Support Meeting

US/Central
Description
dial in #: 866-740-1260 access code: 6643420

Attending:
  Anton,Lincoln,Suchandra - UC
  Marko - FNAL

Anton: (slides)
Do unit testing of examples in ConnectBook documentation.
Eventual goal is to add unit tests for various modules
and to run these on all the sites accessible from
osg-connect. Have a report each morning.
Can query osg-flock host for list of sites that
accept jobs, and then generate a condor submit
file to send a job to each site.
Could run tests that come with software, or our own tests.
Problems with existing tests: Can take a long
time (like for python), or they may try running
in the directory where the software is
installed, which won't work for cvmfs.

Suchandra: (slides)
Installed Gromacs and R. Have a user from U of
Chicago for Gromacs. Tested Gromacs successfully on
  multiple sites.

The module tracking mentioned in the last call is now
installed. Will be able to get stats on how often the
different modules are set up. Do a DB query to get
  the info.

Lincoln:

   Installed gcc 4.6.4.

   Also installed the Matlab freely-distributable
runtime. Requires license server to run.

Suchandra:

Helping user from USDA with an application that runs
for 4 to 7 days. Used condor_compile and doing
checkpoints every few hours. Right now running at
GLOW in Wisconsin. Trying to get it to run on OSG if
  possible.
