A focus is on the studies of muon system.
1) what kind of muon system would be needed? 35 ton's experience is a starting point
2) space and other mechanical requirements.
3) simulation -- could be simple to start with, but using LArSoft may be the way to go eventually. Geometry implementation -- also needed for physics measurement studies, etc.
35 t (Michelle) could provide support. Tom mentioned that the need of knowing the size of concrete.
Why do we do a muon system given the liquid argon detector itself can measure muon.
For calibration purpose, a secondary system with more established understanding is needed to calibrate the responce in the liquid argon. 35 t has found that their muon counter could calibrate the timing of the photon system. It's also need to optimize the size of shielding concrete to reduce the low-energy muon's multiple scattering effect in the detector and so on.
