Description
Over the last year we have heard concerns from many people in all division in PSE, that the safety and especially Work Planning & Control procedures (WPC) are perceived as taking too much time and in some cases even discourage people from pursuing an area of research. I have heard this in person and it was also brought up by several of you during the review of PSE by the University of Chicago last August. We would like to do something about this. Several of your peers and safety representatives from PSE and members from ESQ have proposed and designed a one day PSE/ESQ Safety Workshop. The workshop is especially designed to get your input on how Argonne can improve safety programs, so you can do your research and at the same time we conform to the required safety standards. To do that we need your input. This is a unique opportunity to give your input and work with ES&H professionals to make Argonne a better place to enable research, and doing it in a safe and efficient way. The workshop will take place on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the ESB A323 conference room. Lunch and light refreshments will be provided during the workshop.
