Lodging

The University of Chicago is located about 6 miles south of downtown Chicago. Thus you can stay in one of two places: a downtown hotel, from which you can travel by train, bus, taxi or car to the University; or on the University campus. The use of a car is not recommended: parking may be difficult and expensive both downtown and on campus, specially during the day.

Recommended downtown hotel:

Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott
216 E. Ontario St.
(312) 787-3777 or 1-800-228-2800
The links above and here give access to a special group rate: $137 including breakfast and Internet. There is no block of rooms reserved, so reserve early to make sure that the rate is available. If you call ask to speak to Stefanie Killey and mention the rate for the "Storage forum at the University of Chicago" or Marco Mambelli.

Other downtown or south-side hotels:

Hilton Chicago
720 S. Michigan Ave
(312) 922-4400 or 1-800-HILTONS

Hyatt Regency McCormick Place
2233 South Martin L. King Drive,
(312) 567 1234

On the University campus:

International House [student accomodation building, some room are dorm style]
1414 E. 59th St.
(773) 753-2270
