Call for Abstracts

Early career scientists can register and submit abstracts for the poster session here. There is a limited amount of available space. Abstracts are reviewed and selected by members of the Users Executive Committee (UEC) and Fermilab Student & Postdoc Association (FSPA). The abstracts are due by June 12th.

General Information:

  • The poster session is Wednesday's evening, June 28, 2023.

  • A review panel will judge the posters. The judging times of the posters will be announced before the Users Meeting.

  • Awards are given to the best three posters, where FSPA sponsors the prizes.

  • The printing on the poster should be readable by reviewers. It is highly recommended to use font that is visible from ~4ft.

  • Graphs & photos should be high resolution.

  • Please pick up your posters by Thursday's evening (June 29, 2023). We will discard remaining posters on June 30, 2023.

  • Additional detailed information regarding the poster session will
    follow after the abstracts selection.

Poster Instructions:

  • A rough draft of selected posters are required to be uploaded to the Indico page by June 26, 2023. Failure to upload a rough draft of the poster may result in disqualification. Therefore, the first available candidate on the waiting list is qualified to take the spot.

  • Only one presenter per poster.

  • Contestants must be able to explain the content of the poster.
  • All posters must be 3.5 x 4 feet, where larger posters are disqualified.

  • You are welcome to print at your home institution, but you also have the option to use Fermilab print services (see below). There is an opportunity to print the POSTER at Fermilab free of cost if you follow all the below step and set it by June 12, 2023.

Mandatory Requirements to print and present posters

  1. Use the Scientific Poster template at the bottom of this page: https://www.fnal.gov/faw/designstandards/templates/index.html

  2. Request a Fermilab Poster report number to Fermilab Technical Publications https://techpubs.fnal.gov/ following the steps on these two drop downs:

  3. Add your poster number to the upper right corner area in the blue and the proper acknowledgement at the bottom left corner of your poster and upload the poster to
    Fermilab Technical Publications https://techpubs.fnal.gov/
    Your poster will need to be approved by ORTA/Export Control before you can print or present it. Please allow two weeks for your content to be approved.

  4. Submit your poster for printing Service Catalog - Fermilab Service Desk (servicenowservices.com)
    Posters can be printed on either photo quality inkjet paper and a shipping tube can be provided or it can be printed on satin fabric. This is the preferred material for those who travel as you can fold it and put it in your luggage. It’s waterproof, does not tear and can be ironed.
