16th Workshop on Breakdown Science and High Gradient Accelerator Technology (HG2025)
March 24-28, 2025 | Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico

We are pleased to announce that the 16th workshop on breakdown science and high gradient accelerator technology, HG2025, will take place in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, from March 24-28, 2025.

Since its inception, the HG workshop series has focused on the identification and development of high-gradient accelerator technologies, primarily for linear collider applications. This workshop has been a unique platform for advancing X-band accelerator technologies, showcasing the latest in research, and fostering deep collaborations among participants. These collaborations have led to significant breakthroughs, taking practical accelerator technology to unprecedented levels.

Through past HG workshops, participants have developed an advanced understanding of RF breakdown, refined high-gradient fabrication and conditioning processes, and contributed to novel designs in high-power RF components. These advancements have benefitted not only the X-band community but have also impacted accelerator applications in a variety of other fields. HG2025 will continue the workshop’s tradition of pushing boundaries by fostering an inclusive environment that invites expertise from diverse fields, including material science and broader accelerator applications.

This year’s program will feature the latest developments in:

  • Breakdown science
  • High-efficiency, high-power RF sources
  • Low breakdown rate, high-gradient accelerators
  • Cost-effective accelerator fabrication technologies
  • Innovative accelerator designs
  • Applications of accelerator technology in light sources, medical, and industrial fields

The workshop format will follow the traditional structure, combining oral presentations and in-depth discussions, enabling participants to exchange insights and cultivate collaborative projects.

We look forward to welcoming you to Mérida for a week of engaging sessions and meaningful connections.
