Muon Department meeting

US/Central
Description
Muon Department meeting to discuss M4 and M5 shield wall configurations. Will also introduce new e-log.
The new electronic log book was introduced and demonstrated.  This new log book is what will be used in the future.  There are still some issues to work out on how to convert the Target Station Log Book to the new style.

Issues with the bend bus status to the remote key tree, and the non-standard procedures for the rings controlled access were discussed.  It was decided that we would add additional contact read switches for the D:IB and A:IB breakers so that the remote key tree would continue to function when the 120 V control power is removed from the supplies.  Also, new windowed disconnect swithches will be installed on the quad supplies that add current to quadrupoles that run of the bend bus circtuits.  This will allow us to actually LOTO the bend supplies for controlled access.  Once this modification is made, there will be lock boxes established in the MCR and at AP10 to be used for controlled access.

The M4 line shield wall simulations were discussed, and it was determined that more work was definitely needed before settling on a final design.  MARS runs have to made to separate the effectiveness of the labyrinth from the effectiveness of the shield wall itself.  Also, the effect of moving the enclosure gate farther downstream from the shield wall needs to be understood.  It was decided we should meet again soon to discuss these results.
