The workshop will take place in room 2-160 of the Physics Department (Building 510) on the campus of Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, NY. Campus maps and driving directions to BNL from area airports are at:

Meeting room 2-160 is on the 2nd floor of Bldg 510 on the southwest corner of the building complex. Room 3-191 on the 3rd floor in the 3-story wing is also available for use by meeting attendees during the workshop. Building maps will be distributed at the meeting.
It is generally recommended that visitors to BNL rent a car but it is not strictly necessary for short visits. Uber and Lyft also operate in the area and can provide transportation to BNL from local hotels and the Long Island Railroad Ronkonkoma train station (see below). Note that the Ronkonkoma train station is located at exit 60 off the Long Island Expressway (LIE). Hotels near exits 63 and 64 are conventientally located between BNL (exit 68) and the Ronkonkoma train station.

Long Island Rail Road (LIRR):
The Long Island Rairoad (LIRR) is a commuter rail system that connects Long Island to New York City Penn Station and area airports. The most convenient station to BNL and nearby hotels is the Ronkonkoma station on the Ronkonkoma branch. Trains run once an hour during off-peak and twice an hour in peak travel times and take 1 hr 20 minutes (off-peak) between New York Penn Station and Ronkonkoma. LIRR tickets can be bought at the ticket machines at LIRR stations, using the MTA eTix app, or on the train for an extra fee. Taxis are available 24 hrs at Ronkonkoma train station (Village Taxi – (631) 588-1055) and cost around $40 to BNL. Uber/Lyft are cheaper (around $30).
From JFK airport: Take the AirTrain from your terminal to Jamaica Station. You will need to purchase an AirTrain ticket for $5 when you exit in Jamaica stationl. From Jamaica Station you can take the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) train to Ronkonkoma. LIRR tickets can be purchased on the lower level of Jamaica station. The trip takes 1 hr. From LaGuardia airport: From the terminal take the Q70 Select Bus Service (http://web.mta.info/mta/planning/sbs/Q70SBS.html) to the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) Woodside Station which is the last stop. Take the LIRR train to the Ronkonkoma train station (you may have to change trains in Jamaica). The trip from Woodside to Ronkonkoma on the LIRR Ronkonkoma line takes around 1 hr and 10 minutes. From Newark airport: Take the AirTrain from the terminal to Newark Liberty Airport train station. Transfer to a NJ TRANSIT train (https://www.njtransit.com) to Penn Station New York, the last station. Make sure you don't get out at Penn Station NEWARK. You can buy a NJ Transit ticket at Newark Liberty Airport station before you exit. Go to the Long Island Railroad (follow signs for LIRR) section of Penn Station. From Penn Station you can take the LIRR train to Ronkonkoma. Trains run once an hour during off-peak and twice an hour in peak travel times and take 1hr 20 minutes to Ronkonkoma.
