Vincent Basque (University of Manchester)

Hello Young DUNERS! My name is Vincent Basque. I am a PhD at the University of Manchester in the UK working within the LArTPC community on physics programmes such as DUNE and SBN. Over the course of the last two years, I have been located at Fermilab where I have had the chance to meet and work with many of you.

Throughout my academic career, I have sat in various committees with senior faculty members representing the voice of the young groups. These past experiences give me the confidence that I am well equipped to sit as one of the DUNE Young Representative on the Spokespersons Advisory Committee. I often sat as the only student at a table filled with more senior members expressing how important and valuable the voice of the young people is on a variety of subjects that directly affected their well-being and future opportunities.

2020 is unfortunately not going to be an easy year. The world is changing and we will all have to adapt but this adaptation cannot be to the detriment of our health and safety. I will, given the opportunity by you to sit on the SAC as one of your representative, ensure that our voice, which is one of the most important on DUNE, be heard and taken into account regarding matters that directly affect us. It will be my honour to keep working with you all and keep our voice and interests strong with our collaboration management. I wish you all the best and let us work together in continuing the amazing work Young DUNE has done!
