Richie Diurba
My name is Richie Diurba and I work on ProtoDUNE-SP, mainly on TPC detector physics. I previously served as the MicroBooNE Young coordinator and a Fermilab Student and Postdoc Association Officer. I think DUNE Young has been extremely proactive to issues impacting younger scientists. I want to continue that tradition and focus on the day-to-day workflow at DUNE, such as helping navigate the complicated working group structure. The experiment is getting more complicated and larger each day and I aim to use my tenure to solve some growing pains associated with this growth.

Hi! I’m a postdoc at the University of Minnesota. In DUNE, I am working on ND-GAr reconstruction and analysis. In addition to DUNE, I work on SBND and MicroBooNE. Last August, I completed my PhD at Colorado State University working on SBN-ICARUS. In the name of physics, I left the beauty and grandeur of the Colorado Front Range to spend the last three years of my PhD at Fermilab, a decision I did not regret. I am well acquainted with the lab culture and the struggles with getting settled in for the long term from the perspective of a student.
I am excited to be considered for the position of the Young DUNE IB representative. If elected, I would follow the examples of my predecessors, Iker included, who have done such a great job carrying Young DUNE forward and representing us. While I was a student on SBN-ICARUS, there was no organization analogous to Young DUNE (this has since been remedied :) ). Based on that experience, I understand the importance of advocacy, representation, and community building for young scientists working in large collaborations.
