Dining options - on campus

All dining options and menus can be found here.

The Browne Cafe (building 52) is the main dining hall at Caltech, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It features a large selection of food items, from wood-fired pizza oven to sushi made fresh daily. A short walk from the Lauritsen building

The Red Door cafe (Hameetman center) features a smaller selection of salad, sandwiches and hot plates. A short walk from the Lauritsen building. 

Other options feature a smaller menu and are slightly farther away.

Note: a small breakfast and coffee breaks will be provided in the morning and afternoon

Dining options - in Pasadena

There are a wide variety of local dining options. Many great restaurants, bars, and lounges can be found in Old Town Pasadena, as well as in the South Lake Avenue shopping district.

South Lake Avenue is located a short 10 min walk from Caltech, but Old Town Pasadena is farther away.

 

What else to do in Pasadena

The Huntington gardens (link) are botanical gardens featuring a living collections in 16 stunning themed gardens, a museum and one of the greatest research library. Reservations are mandatory for the weekend and strongly recommended during weekdays. 

The Norton Simon museum (link) features one of the most distinguished collection of European paintings and sculpture in North America, together with small gardens.

The Gamble House (link), also known as the David B. Gamble House, is an iconic American Craftsman home in Pasadena, California, designed by the architectural firm Greene and Greene. 

Old Town Pasadena offers many entertainment, shopping and dining options.
