CalVision general meeting

US/Central
Description

For some strange reason, fnal does not  allowed us to put the zoom link on fnal indigo.  So please go to the Calvision Mattermost channel https://mattermost.web.cern.ch/calvision/channels/calvision-meeting-zoom-link  to find the link.

  • Nural
    • Finalized beam 14 days end of June, beginning of July
    • Are there synergies on fnal test beam?  Grace: will stop delivering beam 7 July, comes back in Nov.
    • Nural may have some interest in muon beam at fnal before July
    • Which cdrocs are you using?  1A.
    • What about their updated timing one? 5203?  Okay, will look at it.
  • Junjie
    • Why didn’t dream use these better filters?  Don’t know.
    • Ask Gabriel why DREAM didn’t use these better ones.
    • New ones are affordable.
    • Buy these tens of dollars ones now.  Jim Freeman may use fnal resources to develop cheaper ones.
  • Mekhala
    • Why isn’t the scintillation light flat with angle?  - don’t know.  Will look into it.
  • Yuxiang
    • Is the number of particles per pulse stable?  To a few percent, but that is when they are running at 1 amp.  Don’t know how stable with few thousand particles per pulse.
    • Do the Virginia people see this noise?  Yes, from wifi.  this amp does work in that area.
    • Can the board be made smaller?  Yes.  It is like this for the test beam, but will use samtec rf cable to make it smaller
  • Grace
    • Jim: take a look at Junjie’s talk about the filters
    • Test beam 22 April protons
    • Schedule a follow up small meeting
    • Thomas: have a nice test beam box at uVa.
  • Ren-Yuan
    • Follow up on the Tanja email with Ren-Yuan
    • Glass in Ettienette’s paper is the same as slide 4 on this talk.
  • Tom for Bob
    • What institutiosn are involved in celeratas?  https://indico.cern.ch/event/1160438/  has fnal and oak ridge.  This is a long term project.  Starting in a few years.  Has more general interface to gpus, not just nvidia.  Fnal logo on slide 2.  Ask the talk author?
