The Argonne Child Development Center is for the employees of Argonne National Laboratory, Department of Energy and University of Chicago and their contractors. This includes short assignment Users of the CNM, APS and other Argonne facilities as well as conference attendees.  The center is open Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 6:00pm.

The NAEYC accredited program provides year round care and education for children ages 6 weeks to 6 years old in a beautiful center with spacious playgrounds.  The center also has a summer camp program for children ages 6 to 12 years old for three months each summer as well as providing coverage for school age children on days when schools are closed for holidays.  The center has eight classrooms in two buildings both located in Argonne Park which is one mile south of the main entrance to the laboratory on Cass Avenue.  Our facilities are custom designed to meet the needs of your child in a safe and encouraging environment.  Developmentally-appropriate programs stress the importance of early education and individual learning styles while providing a supportive atmosphere for growth.

At Bright Horizons, our devoted teachers will welcome your child with engaging opportunities for play and discovery.  When you pick up your child, you will receive information on how your child spent his or her day.  Qualified teachers create activities and projects appropriate for each child and help children in discovering new challenges and new opportunities.  From casual conversations, daily notes, and a standing invitation to drop in at any time, we actively encourage communication with families.

The center can accept children on a drop in basis if space is available in the age group that is needed.  We would like a least a week’s notice for requests so we can make sure space is available and to coordinate care with our teachers for your child.  A daily tuition rate would apply and it as follows:  $75 for Infants, $69 for Toddlers, $66 for Twos, $52 for Preschool/Prekindergarten, $58 for School Age Children

The daily lunch and two snacks are provided by the Argonne Frontiers Café for children in the older classrooms.  Parents of infants who are not eating solid foods will need to provide the bottles, cereal and jar food.  We also have space available for nursing mothers to use throughout the day.  Parents of children who have allergies, or don’t eat food for religious reasons, will need to provide a portion of the daily menu.  A center menu is available upon request.

Parents are required to complete enrollment forms as well as provide immunization information about their child on or before the first day at the center.  For more information on what specific items you need to bring to the center, please visit our website at  www.brighthorizons.com/argonne or call the center at 630-252-9601.  We look forward to meeting you and your family.

The enrollment forms can be found here.
