Students will be housed at the nearby Q Center. Room Reservations can be made through the hotel when the registration page is available for students accepted into the program.
Transportation
Students should arrange their own transportation to and from the airport. The Q Center can help coordinate complete ground transportation arrangements from the airport. Their experienced Business Center professionals can help coordinate airport pick-ups and make the most of your budget by taking advantage of shared ride rates.
For students staying at the Q Center, transportation from the Q Center to Fermilab will be provided every morning, and return transportation every afternoon on Monday - Friday for both weeks of the school. The schedule by following the "INSS2017 bus schedule" link in the navigation bar to the left.
Q Center guests will be responsible for their own transportation outside of class hours and events. However, the Q Center provides daily shuttles for Q Center guests from the hotel to the St. Charles downtown area, and has bicycles available for local transportation and recreation. Taxi service is available to the Geneva Metra train station (Union Pacific West Line), which has trains every one or two hours to and from downtown Chicago.
Students not staying at the Q Center will be responsible for all of their transportation needs.
Meals
Breakfast: Q Center guests will have many food options available to them at the Q Center, from made-to-order omelets and hot espresso/coffee to Belgian Waffles and French toast stations. Their expert kitchen staff can also customize menu options for those with special dietary needs or restrictions. (Breakfast is included in the Q Center room fee.)
Lunch: Available to attendees in the Fermilab cafeteria during the week. There are multiple food options available at the Q Center and downtown St. Charles on the weekends. (Not included in the Q Center room fee.)
Dinner: Dining options at the Q Center are available (not included in the Q Center room fee). There are two restaurants on-site: Q Tower and Brick Oven Bistro. A wide variety of options is also available in downtown St. Charles.
