Travel Information

Travel information

As mentioned on the
Accommodations - Transporation - Meals page, shuttle bus service will be provided for students from Q Center to Fermilab and return on a daily basis.

Transportation to and from Chicago O'Hare Airport or Midway Airport is available by limousine service.  Reservations may be made at: West Suburban Travelers Limousine. The approximate cost is $51 not including gratuity for the driver. A credit card is required to hold your reservation. Please note that the Q Center can help coordinate rides for Q Center quests so as to maximize the benefit of shared ride fees. See the Accommodations, transportation and meals page for more information.

Fermilab Site Access:  A valid photo ID is required to enter the Fermilab site, and you must also tell the security officer the purpose for your visit. All U.S. state-issued IDs are accepted at the security checkpoints. Certain areas of the site and roadways are open to the public; others are accessible only with a Fermilab or DOE ID badge. If you need help finding your way around the site, the security officer can provide a map and give you directions to your destination. Roadways that are off limits to visiting members of the public are clearly marked with signs.
