Tours of Fermilab and Argonne

IMPORTANT ARGONNE TOUR INFORMATION

In preparation for your upcoming visit to Argonne National we will need you to complete the registration below as soon as possible. This will need to be submitted and your registration will need to be fully approved in order to gain site access to Argonne. 

Please complete the visitor registration at https://apps.anl.gov/registration/visitors.  Please use jacarter@anl.gov as the Sponsor/Host E-mail. 

Note, for education background, you must include the university, type of degree and date of degree. Please be sure to upload a copy of your passport and CV/ Resume as well as any relevant immigration documents (Example: ESTA/ WVB/ VISA) when filing in the visitor registration as this is also need for submission.

In addition to the visitor registration form each person will need to complete Contractor Safety Orientation. This training is valid for one year so if you have done it in the past, it still may need renewing.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Jason Carter (ANL) will provide directions and ANL site driving maps to clarify where to park for the 1st stage of the tour of Advanced Photon Source and for the 2nd stage at the offsite warehouse (1 mile from APS)
  • Jason will provide a clarified time table for the tour from arrival at Argonne gates (suggested 8:30 AM for 9 AM tour start time) to completion at 11 AM
  • No additional fees are required for this tour.
  • The workshop is planning to provide a group transportation options from Fermilab to the tour and back however visitors are welcome to drive their own vehicles if they would like and don’t need to register these with ANL in advance.
  • Argonne is a 30-45 minute drive from both the O’Hare and Midway airports. If visitors would like to go to the airport immediately after the tour, local taxi services or ride share services like Uber and Lyft are reliable options that can be contacted on short notice. The tour host can help coordinate.
