Description

We are entering the era of multi-messenger astronomy with the first discovery of an electromagnetic kilonova counterpart to a gravitational wave signal of a binary neutron star merger and the identification of a flaring blazar as a compelling high-energy neutrino source candidate. I will highlight the possible synergies between electromagnetic observations and other messengers such as cosmic rays, neutrinos and gravitational waves and give an overview of recent observations in the context of multi-messenger astronomy.
