Description

The new High Power Targetry (HPT) Laboratory at Fermilab is part of a larger building project, The Target Systems Integration Building (TSIB) which will provide a facility for building devices and support the construction and installation of the Long Baseline Neutrino Facility (LBNF).

The proposed HPT Lab addresses the need on High Power Targetry to support development of current and next generation accelerators at Fermilab. It will include a hot lab with a hot cell suite, as well as a cold testing lab, a microscopy lab and a novel material and technology lab.

This first design review of the lab aims to consolidate our concept and places a priority on the design features that affect the construction design (i.e. concrete walls and other shieldings, containment of potential contamination, ventilation, size of the hot cells, etc…)
