Transportation Information

Air travel

Primary airport to use for inter-continental flights is the Airport of Zurich. After arrival use public transport or car instructions (see below).

Additionally, one may arrive at Geneva Airport.

For European flights, also the Basel airport or Bern-Belp could be convenient, especially for "low price airlines".

Train connections are excellent, about twice an hour, from either Zurich (1h15), Basel (1h20) or Geneva (1h53)

Public transport (recommended)

From either the Zurich or Geneva airports, you can take a direct train to the Bern mainstation. Connections can be viewed at the SBB website. Travel time from ZRH is about one hour and 15 minutes, while from GVA it is about two hours.

Once you arrived at the Bern mainstation, take the stairs from the platform down to the passageway and from there follow the signs "Universität Bern" to the elevators. (If you arrive in the main hall of the station, you have taken the wrong way!)
Take the elevator – or walk – up to the 4th floor (top floor), which will bring you outside. You are now on the terrace with a beautiful view of the Alps.

Turn now to the opposite direction and you will see the main building where the confernce will be held.
