Junior Researcher Workshop

Information and Schedule
There will be a two day workshop prior to the Frontiers conference on February 5th & 6th at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory on the MSU campus.  The meeting will consist of talks on student and postdoc research and professional development workshops.  One goal of the workshop is to encourage students and postdocs to share their research in a positive and supportive, yet constructive, environment.  The workshop will also feature presentations on professional development topics and opportunities to build collaborations and connections with other young researchers in the field.

The first day of this meeting will consist of overview talks on general topics relevant to the meeting as well as shorter talks.  The second day will consist of professional development workshops on topics such as public speaking and preparing job applications.

The schedule for the Junior Researchers workshop can be found here.
The presentation slides can found on this Dropbox link.

Location
Note that the venue for the Junior Researcher Workshop is NOT the same as for the main meeting.  The junior researcher workshop will take place at the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory on the Michigan State University campus.  The NSCL address is 640 S. Shaw Ln.

Due to FRIB security restrictions, everyone must enter through the Shaw Ln side entrance to the new tower.  There will be signs indicating which entrance to use.  Registration will open at 8am.  Please plan on arriving early enough to complete registration before opening remarks at 9am.

If you are staying at the Kellogg Center, the hotel offers a complimentary shuttle that can transport you to the workshop location.  If any issues with the shuttle arise, please email Cathleen Fry (fry (AT) nscl.msu.edu).
