Hotel Accommodations and Travel Logistics

Accommodation for the Junior Researcher Workshop is at the Kellogg Center. Please see the Junior Researcher Workshop page for information.

We have reserved several hotel rooms with a conference discounted rate of $100 plus taxes.  Room blocks have been reserved at the main conference venue, the Radisson Hotel Lansing at the Capitol.

Rooms will be held for the negotiated group rate until January 16th, so please make your reservations before that date.

We also encourage students to share a room.  If you would like to save on travel costs, you can find another attendee to share a room with here.

 
Parking
The Radisson Hotel offers all overnight guests valet parking for a fee of $12 per night. Temporary valet parking is available at $20 per entry. Temporary self-parking is available in the city-owned ramp conveniently connected to the Radisson Hotel via a climte controlled pedway. Current parking rates are, the 1st half hour free, $1 for each additional 1/2 hour, maximum $10 per day.



Travel Logistics
Lansing is served by several major airports:

Lansing's Capital Region Airport (LAN) can be found at http://www.flylansing.com

  1. The Radisson offers complimentary 24-hour to and from the Lansing Airport.
  2. Taxi cabs are usually available upon arrival and there is a direct line inside the baggage claim to call for a taxi. It is about 6 miles from the airport to the Radisson Hotel. The fare is about $20 USD.
  3. Rental cars can be obtained at a discounted rate at any of the airport locations using the appropriate contract numbers:

Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) can be found at http://www.metroairport.com
  1. Michigan Flyer is an economical way to travel the 90 miles from the airport. The fare for the Michigan Flyer is $30 USD for a one-way
    trip and $50 for a round trip fare. Reservations for the Michigan Flyer can be made here: http://www.michiganflyer.com/.

Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GRR) can be found at http://www.grr.org
  1. Taxi cabs are always available upon arrival. You can get a traditional taxi right outside the arrival terminals. Luxury sedan transportation
    can be schedule prior to your arrival by calling Metro Cab at +1 (616) 827-6500. It is about 65 miles from the airport to the Lansing. The traditional taxi fare is about $125 USD and the luxury sedan fare is a flat rate of $144 USD.

Bishop International Airport (FNT) can be found at http://www.bishopairport.org
  1. A taxi cab can be reserved prior to your arrival by calling International Cab at +1 (810) 691-6396. It is about 45 miles from the airport
    to Lansing. The fare is about $95 USD.
