AD Weekly Friday - 2017 Scheduling Meeting/Weekly Summary (09 Jun 2017)
Linac
Ran pretty well this week.
Booster
4.6E12/pulse to NuMi.
Working on injection losses.
1E12/pulse to SY.
1.8E17 protons/hour.
Did early capture studies, coupled bunch instability studies, laser notcher studies, cogging module software updates.
Looking at 2 days of Booster studies sometime around 7/6.
Main Injector & Recycler
Good week.
Major work was the injection timing change to accommodate Muon cycles.
MI52 vacuum has behaved itself. Plans are in place to address it if problems arise again.
Upcoming studies are for establishing a 1.2 second ramp.
NuMI
There have been no permit trips since EE Support added filtering to the DCCT signal.
Running well.
NuMI Experiments
Running well.
Have discontinued vinegar treatments to the sump water since that was exacerbating the biofouling problem.
Booster Neutrino
Running well.
BNB Experiments
Running well.
Muon Rings
Proton dump has been installed.
Replaced dipole V742.
Replaced "sticky" PWC.
Weekend plans are to take beam and work on efficiencies and delivery ring orbits.
Muon Experiments
G-2 is showing some good success. They will need two days of downtime next week.
SY120 Experiments
SeaQuest and MTEST are runnning well.
MTEST will have their final switchover before the shutdown next Wednesday.
LAriat has additional work to do before taking beam.
FAST
300MeV line quads have all been valved in.
All BLMs have been installed.
LCW system has been brought up to nominal temp and pressure.
Warm conditioning of cryo cavities will start next week.
PIP-II Injector Test
ORC walkthrough is complete. Permission is in place to run beam with pulse width of 20uS at 10Hz.
Plan to start turn on of the LEBT tomorrow.
Cryo
CMTF plant is cold at 4K.
MTA is cold at 4K.
Meson cryo is off and piping modifications are nearly complete.
MC1, G2 plant is cold.
HAB plant is cold.
NML/FAST has been purified.
ESH&Q
Expressing thanks to all who assisted with the AP0 absorber installation.
Mechanical & Fluids
MI62 shows a water leak indication.
F4 building needs to be cleared of stored equipment to allow heat exchanger work to occur.
RF
Running well.
MIRF4 has a water leak that will need attention when time permits.
FESS
Progress is being made on the "MINOS muck" problem; Biofouling of the sump pumps and of equipment at CUB is being addressed by discontinuing vinegar treatment of MINOS sumps and doing treatments with chlorine bleach. After cleaning the muck from one sump pump, the pumping rate increased from ~30GPM back to the nominal value of ~370GPM.
Meson cryo strainer is being cleaned. CHL is going down in preparation for a feeder switch. Inspection of power poles on site is in progress.
There are minutes attached to this event.
Show them.
