The Department of Energy (DOE) High Energy Physics (HEP) program supports Detector Research and Development (R&D) including a portfolio identified as Data Acquisition (DAQ) and Trigger R&D. This portfolio, which is supported at multiple national laboratories in collaboration with researchers in the university and industrial communities, benefits fundamental research across the Energy, Intensity and Cosmic Frontiers. This memorandum is to solicit participation in a workshop to bring interested researchers together at the University of New Mexico on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, immediately preceding the CPAD meeting on October 12-14 at UNM. (CPAD workshop website)
The goals of this workshop include:
We encourage individuals from universities and national laboratories that participate in the DAQ and Trigger portfolio of the Detector R&D program to attend this workshop. The scheduling of this workshop in conjunction with the CPAD meeting will provide an excellent opportunity to bring together researchers from across the research frontiers to think about both future needs and opportunities (this workshop) and to share information about current activities (the CPAD Trigger and DAQ sessions).
