      Operations Coordinator

Currently running well.  Late Wednesday night there was a power glitch on site.  There was a Booster access Thursday owl shift, and a MI access on the day shift.  Both access were relatively short.  After the day shift MI access, the MI52 vacuum flared up and limited intensiy for the next 12 hours.

      Linac
      Slides

Running good.  Worked on the LRF2 gradient regulation during yesterday’s downtime.  Twice this week have seen problems with the source gas regulation, and are still investigating.  Would like to load new waveforms in the laser notcher this morning, (approved).

      Booster

Changed a chipmunk in the enclosure Thursday owl shift.  Efficiency is about a percent low but tuning is currently on going.

    • 5
      Main Injector & Recycler
      Slides

Currently running well.  Accessed the enclosure for 2 hours Thursday day shift to recover the abort region vacuum.  The area was pumping down at the end of the day shift but seems to have stalled overnight.  The vacuum is good enough to continue running at this point.  After the access, the vacuum at the MI52 septa flared up and overnight limited intensity and beam to switchyard.  Will keep an eye on both vacuum problems.  Have some concerns with the Recycler LLRF front end.

    • 6
      NuMI

Running well.  The NuMI kicker which had been a problem earlier in the week has settled down.  During yesterday’s MI downtime an access to the MI-65 RAW room was made for an inspection.

    • 7
      NuMI Experiments

Running well.  NOVA collaboration meeting next week.

    • 8
      Booster Neutrino

Running well.  Tripped the beam permit twice on ”air flow”, but seems to be due to the high winds.  Reset both times.

    • 9
      BNB Experiments
BNB Experiments are running well. Need to coordinate with FESS to replace emergency light batteries in LArTF.
    • 10
      Muon Rings
      Slides

Running well.  Using the momentum scrapers to remove beam that does not contribute to the experiment.  Look for ways to improve efficiency.

    • 11
      Muon Experiments
Speakers: Brendan Casey (FNAL), Brendan Kiburg (Fermilab), Joe Grange (Argonne National Lab)

Good week.  Had about 1.5 shifts of inefficiencies.  Trolley run this weekend.  No planned downtime next week.

    • 12
SY120, Neutrino Muon, Meson Test, Meson Center

Yesterday ran a brief study with beam to the dump.   Inspected the MT4 target.  Provided beam when requested.

    • 13
      SY120 Experiments

Meson Test will be running today and through the weekend.

    • 14
      FAST/IOTA

IOTA RF cavity work continues.  All dipole trims and skew quads connected to the control system.  Lambertson assembly wrapping up and should be baked soon.

    • 15
      PIP-II Injector Test
    • 16
      Alignment

Supported Mu-2-e, LCLS2, and SBN during the week.

    • 17
      Controls

Replaced a lot of equipment on the north side of the lab after the Thursday owl shift storm, (power glitch or lighting strike ?? ).

    • 18
      Cryo
    • 19
      ESH&Q

Have chipmunks in several areas coming due for calibration by the end of the month.

    • 20
      EE Support

Replaced the CVT power supply on the MI30 upper bend supply earlier in the week.  Requesting 8 hours of time to open the NuMI kicker high voltage tank for inspection.

    • 21
      Instrumentation

      nothing

    • 22
      Mechanical & Fluids

Supported the access work already mentioned.  Inspected the MS2 cooling towers.

    • 23
      RF

Running well.  Will continue to look at the RF gap problems on BRF20.

    • 24
      FESS
      Speakers: Gilbert, Shirley, Sprosty

Dealing with a domestic water leak at MS1.  Load tested the SBN far crane.  Refurbishing switchgear.  Doing PM’s on AC units.  At CUB, the chiller 4 rebuild continues.
