Site Access

Argonne and Fermilab are controlled access facilities, and approval for site access is required. All visitors must be pre-authorized before being allowed on the Fermilab or Argonne sites. If you are attending days at both Argonne and Fermilab you will need separate access invites for both and a QR code for Fermilab. The invites, QR codes for Fermilab, and badges are not interchangeable for both labs.

  • Townhall attendees (both onsite and virtual) will register through Fermilab Indico. Follow steps below in the "Site Access" section.

  • For onsite visitors to Fermilab or Argonne, if needed the registration will generate follow-up emails for you to complete your site access to Fermilab and Argonne.

  • Most attendees will be registered as business visitors (not badged) for Fermilab and Argonne, which will limit access to public areas onsite when not escorted.

  • Access for US citizens generally is processed in a few days. Access for Foreign Nationals can take up to two weeks. Please register and plan travel accordingly.
