Description
Fermilab is hosting an international workshop on statistical issues in experimental neutrino physics, called Phystat-Nu Fermilab 2016. This workshop will bring together statisticians and experimental physicists to address the challenges raised in the design of future neutrino experiments and producing the most valuable results from running ones. The increased precision of current and future experiments requires careful review and selection of statistical techniques and procedures for controlling systematic uncertainty. The workshop will address interaction reconstruction techniques, selecting and classifying events, measuring model parameters, controlling systematic uncertainties, setting limits on rare processes, discovery of new processes and phenomena, choosing between models, Bayesian and frequentist techniques, and combining the results of experiments.
